Cassie, Your problem seems to me to be very different then the others since you say it sits at connecting to Arena Net I suggest you go to your firewall settings and make sure Guild Wars is allowed to run because after upates alot of times my firewall blocks Guild Wars with out notice so I would check that first.

Umm before it would say the exe has been changed do you want to allow it access to the net, but now it seems to not allow zonealarm to do that.
so i turned off zonealarm and what do you know it's working, so something has changed to make it less tolerant of zonealarm.
But YAY! it's working again

This is for Cassie "DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR FIREWALL IT IS A BIG MISTAKE".
You will have to go into program control in the zonealarm control panel then choose Programs it will show a list of all the programs that have internet access from your computer. Find Guild Wars in the list and set it to allow. Now go into the Main part of the programs within ZoneAlarm and set it to medium so that it asks you wether to allow a program to access the internet. That should help out. I also use ZoneAlarm and have never had a problem with it. Also make sure that the Windows Firewall is turned off as that may cause conflicts between Zonealarm and the built in windows one.

Reinstalling won't work, I've tried it. (Of course without deleting the .dat file)
Not that it matters, because I think my GW just updated ^^
